John Galliano suspended by Dior due to anti-semitic remarks.
When I saw the headline for this story I was beyond shocked. The short time I spent on a textile course I became especially fond of Galliano's creations and it's sad to hear of such a huge talent embarrass himself like this.
The issue happened Thursday night at a cafe in Paris. A highly intoxicated Galliano (Over the legal limit) allegedly assaulted and made anti-semitic remarks towards a french couple. He was arrested by French police but it was recommended by the state prosecutor that he be released without charge.
A possible explanation for this strange behaviour could be due to the up and coming Dior show at Paris fashion week. The show is always closely observed by the media, resulting in pressure and stress for the staff involved in making the event flawless.
Galliano has now been suspended, pending investigation. Dior CEO, Sidney Toledano, released this statement 'Dior affirms with the utmost conviction its policy of zero tolerance towards any anti-Semitic or racist words or behavior. Pending the results of the inquiry Christian Dior has suspended John Galliano from his responsibilities.'
Although we weren't there, so will never truly what happened, from what you've heard should John Galliano be fired?
Love J.
