Erdem Spring/ Summer 2011

I think, out of every collection I have seen for Spring/ Summer 2011, that Erdems take on florals, lace and indeed of design as a whole, is my absolute favourite!
And, it appears that many people agree. Kate Phelan described the collection as "A gorgeous garden party for the modern age!" This is probably because the setting for the show wasa circular stage, underneath a tent roof, designed by architect that is boyfriend to Erdems designer.
The collection began with a white number, with appliqué on chiffon with white lace; it was a stunner! He appeared to use every technique possible, to show off his sheer talent; slashing, double hem-lines, nipped waists, scooping necklines, A-line and tiers.
Erdem, really has a personal gift for making dramatic, chic and feminine pieces, using his signature floral prints, but this time, using red lace, bleeding on to the white.
Noticing and supporting Erdem and his creative talents, are Vogue, who announced him winner of their Fashion Fund award recently, he has also been honoured at a dinner held for him by Matches.
I really adore everything he can do, with the to-the-floor dresses, to the tailored shorts, to his modest designs and most of all, his dark, lace dress that gave a hint of classic suit, crossed with a powerful woman and mixed with what it really means to be a female.
Erdem is a no doubt 10/10 for me and is probably my favourite designer of the moment...
