As you bon bons may already know, I'm probably one of the only people on blogspot who isn't a total mac junkie. Also if you've been with me for a while you will know I wasn't exactly impressed with the Rodarte and Mac collection last year and I was surprisingly disappointed with the Disney Villain collection.
However, I am actually head over heels in love with this collection! My main disappointment with the Disney villains collection was that it felt bland. It didn't feel special and exciting. It was literally just stickers/transfers of the characters on to plain packaging. The amount you pay for MAC, you want something that feels like it has been crafted! This collection has that! It looks fun and interesting.
You really can tell that MAC have worked really well with this concept. The shades - a lot more that the predicted primary pops - really match the character and comic.
Although I have heard on the grape vine that there is a few complaints! These coming from some of the feminist movement. Some Feminists believe that Wonder women is the mascot of the fight against patriarchy. This being said lets just say some feminists arn't to happy about the figure being related with beauty.
In the feminist book 'The beauty myth' By Naomi Wolf, she describes beauty as the last barrier to women's equality. People would hit out against public feminists and attack them where is hurts, their physical appearance.
Besides this, there is the point that most females admit to only wearing make up to impress others, who? Their boyfriend, love interest, boss? Mainly males. Therefore this makeup collection apparently ''taint's the image of gender equality.'' .

All in all I think this is a great collection. I am so impressed with MAC this time around which is a great surprise! I can't wait to get my hands on some of this but I know if I buy one thing I will have to find some way of getting the whole collection! As per usual the U.S get this before us Brits! The U.S can expect this to hit stores early February where as we British and international bon bons have to wait another month after! No official day has been announced but we are expecting it to be on sale to Internationals and the Brits late March! Hey? Atleast we have time to save up for it all!!
